Much improved second half sees Sports claim the points

Sports travelled to Rugby Borough looking to pick up points against a side close to them in the table and bounce back from two recent defeats

Sports were without Buckingham (ankle) and Champkins however Humphreys returned from suspension

The hosts started well on the 3G and kep the ball without threatening. Sports grew into the half but neither side really tested the keeper.

Sports were getting frustrated as the Rugbt players were continually tripping up Sports players running back without the officials noticing.

Sports lost Watkin to injury with Fuller coming on.

Rugby took the lead from a free kick which was curled into top right corner. A good finish.

Sports needed to manage how they pressed
and did this much better in the second half. With players higher up the pitch Howard’s had more support and was a constant threat.

The equaliser came from tenacious work by Wynne who pressed well. This forced a back pass which was under hit. Howards raced through and went round the keeper to score.

Ollie Rose came on to replace Reilly

Sports looked the more dangerous although the Rugby striker did hit the post

Sports took the lead when a free kick was flicked on by Watts to Wynne. He was upended by No 2. Having already been booked he was given a second yellow.

Convey converted the penalty.

Sports managed the game well and secured a good win which they enjoyed - the hosts didn’t seem as many refused to shake hands.

Next up Sports host Eynesbury Rovers on Wednesday
