ESFC Vs AYLESTONE PARK FC

MATCH PREVIEW

Sports will be looking to get another vital result to secure their place in Step 5 football for the 2026-27 season. With 12 points to play for, Easington currently sit 8 points ahead of second from bottom Bugbrooke St Michael FC and so they will be looking for another battling performance from the young squad.

Whilst the talent of the squad is clear to see, the boys have shown great character over the last 3 performances and this is something that has become more evident in the second half of the season.

Sports deserved the draw against Daventry Town on Wednesday after recovering from 2 goals down to end the game 3-3. Goals from Charlie Pye, Max Leonard and a final headed goal from Mo Gueye rounding off a great comeback.

They will certainly need to show the same level of determination if they are to get anything out of the game against high flying Aylestone Park. The visitors are just one point away from a play off position and so there will be much at stake for both teams.

The game at the weekend is also the club's first Easington Old Boys day. This coincides with this season being the 80th year in existence and so past players and committee have been invited along for the day. The picture shown is taken from the 1970s - a decade in which Sports joined the Hellenic Division. "The Clan" continued to play Hellenic League football right up to 2021 when they were transferred into the United Counties Premier Division.

It is hoped there should be a good turn out of past players - although we do know that due to the Easter weekend, there are some people away.

The bar will be fully up and running from 2pm on Saturday, in what is sure to be an entertaining game at home. Hot refreshments and burgers will be on sale from the clubhouse snack bar and the "Love and Pizza" food wagon will also be on site providing pizza and chicken options for those looking for something different!

The game will be a PAY WHAT YOU WANT fixture with all money going to Katharine House Hospice and Prostate Cancer UK.

Parking available in Blessed George Napier School if the ESFC car parks are full.
