After 10 months, the final game of the season is just around the corner and Sports will face one of the top sides in the league on Saturday, Atherstone Town. Success for this young squad was always going to be measured by staying in the league and after a crucial run of form picking up 10 points from 12, this was achieved against Aylestone Park back at the beginning of the month.

Sports have been far more competitive in the second half of the season and this is down to the hard work and so credit must go to the players and management for this turn around. The players have also shown a real togetherness and have worked tirelessly even when the results did not match the performance and effort. Everyone is pleased to be playing another season of step 5 football next year and so congratulations to all who have made this possible. It would be great to see some local support for the players and management against a side pushing for points to seal a second placed finish in the league.

Injuries have depleted the Easington sides in the last two games and playing against Newport Pagnell and Coventry without the same experience and squad depth was always going to be a challenge. Whilst the injuries have lead to disjointed performances, the players are certainly looking forward to bringing the season to a close with a home fixture.

We will be looking forward to some good support for both sides at Addison Road this weekend and so do please use Blessed George Napier School for additional parking.
