Well over 20 games across all age groups at Easington Sports FC have been called off due to the weather over the past 3 weeks. Back to back weekends have been affected and as you can see from the pictures taken today, there has been virtually a clean sweep of pitches affected by the rain over night. Full album found here

This is now the 8th weekend affected with postponements across the board, and with no 3G/4G facilities in the Banburyshire area, grass pitches are struggling to cope. Easington Sports men's first team play in the East Midlands region and regularly come across teams with 3G/4G facilities, and in some cases, two 3G/4G pitches. Ladies play in the Thames Valley League and the youth section play in the Witney and District, Oxfordshire and Midland Junior Premier Divisions and they also play against sides who benefit from community use 3G/4G facilities.

May be it is time that all the authorities come together to invest in better facilities for the sake of the game and the well-being of localised players! #Football #PitchProblems #InvestInSports
