This has been a miserable start to 2026 with virtually no football at Addison Road for any team.

Although we have not had the storms and heavy rain events of 2023/24 which saw our pitch with large amounts of water across it, the relentless nature of rain virtually every other day in 2026 has still taken its toll on the pitch.

Shallow puddles are common virtually across the whole of the pitch after heavy rain with the ground now saturated. All the main areas have been heavily forked and lifted to get the puddles off the surface ahead of the game against Coventry United. The water table is still up and so rain forecast for Friday will lead to yet another pitch inspection ahead of the match as Sports look to get their first game on for nearly a month.

For those planning to come to the game - please check social media before setting off.

For all spectators, there is a school event taking place and so there will not be the normal levels of parking available. Please car share where you can and for locals, please look to park elsewhere avoiding Addison Road before walking up. The Blessed George Napier Car gates and parking will be open for limited parking.
